The Information Technology (IT) Technical Specialist serves as technical expert for the development, implementation, management, and support of systems and networks. The IT team evaluates new and enhanced approaches to deliver IT services; test and optimize the functionality of systems, networks, and data; and define technical requirements. The team is also responsible for providing various forms of computer-related technical assistance and improving the efficiency of the work of the staff using technology.

Responsibilities
Install, configure, and support workstation software, hardware, printers, and phones.
Administer network systems as well as documentation, implementation, testing, and administration, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Implement applications and software upgrades and troubleshoot any issues.
Train employees in using software and hardware and provide technical support when needed.
Ability to work unsupervised is required, and some travel will also be required.
Willing to get your hands dirty, to ensure the work is completed.
Required Education and Experience
At least five years of related work experience (preferably in IT for a medium size organization).
Excellent knowledge of IT principles, concepts, and methods; systems testing and evaluation principles, methods, and tools; IT security principles and methods; Internet technologies; and / or emerging information technologies.
Experience in support of Microsoft products.
Must have a strong familiarity with PC hardware, software, and peripherals in a Windows environment.
Self-starter must possess strong analytical interpersonal, and communication skills and can work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
Experience in technical support and / or training.
Hands on experience with computer networks, network administration and installation.
Project management experience: ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions
This role will be based in the Surrey Branch until a space has been made available in the new or existing Abbotsford building.
Full-time. Core hours 8am to 5pm 40 hours per week. Overtime as required.
Ability to work off-hours to address mission-critical issues or project work.
Travel as required to multiple branches.
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
