Join our growing team as a Service Manager at our Dawson Creek branch! We are looking for an enthusiastic leader to manage our service department while maintaining a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency. This position involves overseeing the department budget, managing expenses, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), the customer experience, fostering relationships with, and managing daily workflow. As a strong leader, you will also collaborate with the service team and the other departments to build a unified, goal-oriented group, clearly communicate objectives, and work together to achieve success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service Department Operations: Oversee daily operations, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure efficient workflow and timely task completion.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality standards for all activities within the shop, including maintenance and repair work.
- Staff Management: Recruit, hire, train, and manage service department staff while conducting performance appraisals, providing coaching, and ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
- Customer Relations: Proactively manage the customer experience and manage inquiries professionally while maintaining strong working relationships.
- Policy and Compliance: Ensure adherence to company standards for cost control, safety, waste reduction, and timely service delivery, while developing and improving policies and procedures.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor and analyze financial performance, including budgets, Profit and Loss statements, and key performance indicators, to ensure the department meets its objectives.
- Performance Monitoring: Track departmental progress against goals, address deficiencies, and report on key metrics and trends.
- Leadership and Problem Resolution: Foster a positive work environment, maintain morale, and provide leadership to resolve issues and improve team dynamics.
Requirements:
- High school diploma (post-secondary in mechanical/technical field preferred)
- Five or more years’ previous management experience in a technical environment with proven leadership abilities.
- Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
- Able to identify key issues and creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.
- A clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
- Proven mechanical aptitude and Ag experience will considered a strong asset
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
- Experience with routine maintenance operations, tooling, facilities management

- Demonstrated knowledge of asset control procedures.
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
